Best inventory planning software for Shopify brands (2026)
Inventory planning tools all answer the same question: what should I reorder and when? The good ones answer it well. What none of the pure-play tools ask is the question that actually hurts founder-run brands: can you afford the order it just recommended? That's the lens for this list, alongside verified pricing, because half this category hides its prices behind a sales call.
1. Cushion, best when reorders are cash decisions
Our product, bias declared above. Cushion does demand forecasting and reorder math sized for founder-run brands, and then does the thing the rest of this list structurally can't: it puts the order against your live cash position and forecast, deposits and balance payments included, next to payroll, tax and ad spend. £299 a month flat, 14 days free, live the same day. If you have an ops team and cash has never constrained an order, the tools below go deeper on pure inventory mechanics.
2. Prediko, best value Shopify-native planner
The slickest of the current Shopify-native crop. AI demand forecasting, purchase orders with buying alerts, multi-store support, raw materials add-on. From $49 a month under $100k GMV, scaling through twelve revenue brackets, 14-day trial, billed through Shopify. Genuinely good value early on. Its price grows with your revenue and it can't see your bank. Full comparison: Prediko vs Cushion.
3. Inventory Planner by Sage, deepest at scale
The category heavyweight: SKU-level forecasting, automated replenishment, multi-location, unlimited users. If you have a replenishment person and complex warehousing, it's the serious choice. The trade-offs: pricing is undisclosed and sales-gated (volume-based on inventory managed), and their own material quotes go-live in five to six weeks. Full comparison: Inventory Planner vs Cushion.
4. Fabrikator, strong Shopify pure-play with backorder handling
Shopify-focused (Plus supported), demand forecasting, PO automation, and notably good backorder management. Revenue-based pricing from $79 a month (under $500k annual revenue) up to $350 a month, 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Same structural boundary as Prediko: no cash model.
5. Netstock, for ERP-run operations
Enterprise supply and demand planning attached to ERPs (NetSuite, SAP Business One, Dynamics, Acumatica, Sage). 2,400+ customers. If your operation runs on an ERP, it belongs on your shortlist; if you run on Shopify and Xero, it's more machinery than you need. Pricing unpublished; their onboarding quote is "fully operational in 90 days or less", which is the sentence that tells you who it's for.
Gone but still searched for: Cogsy
Cogsy, once a well-liked Shopify planning tool, has been discontinued. Its site now redirects to Mayple, the company it became part of. If you're a former Cogsy user, Prediko and Fabrikator are the closest pure-inventory replacements, and Cushion is the move if you want the cash side joined on.
