Prediko alternative: inventory planning that checks the bank first

The honest version first: Prediko is probably the slickest Shopify-native inventory tool of the current crop. AI demand forecasting, purchase orders with buying alerts, multi-store support, an add-on for raw materials and BOMs, and it starts at $49 a month for brands under $100k GMV. If cash has never been the constraint on your ordering, Prediko is great value and you can close this tab.

Two things to weigh before you commit to it, one commercial and one structural.

The commercial one: the price grows with you

Prediko's pricing runs through twelve revenue brackets tied to your Shopify GMV, from $49 a month at the bottom, billed through Shopify. It's transparent and fair, but it means the tool's cost is indexed to your topline: every growth milestone re-rates your subscription. Cushion is £299 a month flat, whatever you grow to. Under about £15k a month of revenue Prediko will be cheaper; past that the gap closes, and what you're actually choosing between is scope. As always, check Prediko's pricing page for current numbers.

The structural one: it can't see your money

Prediko reads your store. It doesn't read your bank or your books. So it can tell you what to order and when demand says to order it, and it will raise the PO beautifully, but it cannot tell you whether the deposit lands in the same week as payroll and the VAT bill.

That's not a criticism of Prediko, it's a boundary of the category. Every pure inventory tool has it. It just happens to be the boundary where founder-run brands actually get hurt: the order that was right by demand and wrong by cash.

Who should pick which

Pick Prediko if you're early, cash-comfortable, and want the cheapest good answer to "what should I reorder". At $49 it's an easy yes.

Look at Cushion if reorders are cash decisions in your business, because they compete with payroll, tax and ad spend for the same bank balance. Cushion is the only tool in this comparison that models that competition instead of ignoring it.
